[SJDXA] DX Column

One of the most pressing issues today - much worse that I ever remember -
is the intentional and unintentional QRM on dxpeditions and other dx
operations (even the W1AW/* stations). While tar and feathers are often
suggested, there's not much chance of that happening.

A LOT of the QRM is just caused by inexperienced operators. Techniques
and training for those new to DX (not always newbee ops, either). Tips like
not letting the QRMers get to you and turning you into one of them. 50
guys shouting "UP UP" usually cover the dx more than the QRMers. Don't add
your voice to the madness.

The value of LISTENING before transmitting. The technique of operating
split. ETC ETC. The experienced DXer know these things, but they didn't
learn them in the womb or even in the first few years on the air.

Or putting comments on the cluster. "He's deaf." "He doesn't have a
receiver." "No ears." Anyone who has never been 'on the other end' knows what
it sounds like when the whole world is calling you. You think the pileup
is bad on your side? You should hear what the dxpedition op hears.

And so forth and so on. Folks CAN be trained. Maybe we can accomplish
that feat. And make it easier for all of us.

As most of you have already heard by now, I have taken over the CQ
Magazine DX Column.
I am beginning to put together an outline of subject matter for 2015. I
have already written the January column.
My focus will balance between newcomer, casual, and hardcore DXers.
I need help from my fellow SJDXA members.
What would YOU like me to write about? What subjects would you like to see
addressed in the column?
You all know my interest in QSL cards. I plan multiple articles on all of
the aspects of QSLing.
So, put your thinking caps on. What would you like to see in the DX Column?
