Hi Everyone,

As most of you probably know, the first of W1AW/2 operations from New Jersey
as part of the year long ARRL Centennial begins at 8 PM local time (0000
UTC) on Tuesday evening, April 22nd and continues for seven days, ending
7:59 PM local time the following Tuesday evening.

We absolutely need experienced operators and many stations to make the
W1AW/2 NJ operation a success. The goal is to provide at least 50,000
contacts during the seven day operating period. The results of prior W1AW/n
operations have demonstrated a broad interest in this event by hams around
the world.

We are inviting you to be a part of the fun by donating blocks of your
operating time during our week on the many bands and modes that need to be
covered. We want to be sure W1AW/2 NJ is always visible and easy to work by
as many of the deserving as possible. Some of you have already signed up
and we hope you will try to put in some additional hours as well.

The number of total contacts that have been logged by prior W1AW/n
operations mimic what might be expected while on a typical DXpedition. I'm
sure our W1AW/2 NJ effort will easily surpass many other states with your
commitment and help. The pile-ups have been awesome, and since this is the
first time W1AW/2 will be active from here, the demand for a NJ contact will
be great. BE PREPARED for deep pileups and operating split.

W1AW/2 NJ will return again for a second week in early-August. Please
contact Carol, N2MM to sign up!

Both Carol and I really appreciate your interest and volunteering to help.
To facilitate scheduling, a Google Chrome spreadsheet has been created and
can be found at the link listed below (you will need to use the Google
Chrome internet browser to access). This is an open spreadsheet file so you
will not need anyone's permission to enter your time block selections by
band and mode.

Just type in your call for the day, band, mode and the time slots that you
want to operate, then press SHARE at the top right hand corner, then press
DONE in the conversation box that appears. We recommend signing up for
blocks of two continuous hours or more per band/mode.

Here is the link to the signup sheet:

If you have any problems, just send Carol or I an e-mail and we will
manually put you on the schedule. Remember, the W1AW/2 NJ operation is for
an entire week, (over 2500 hours of operating slots) so we need all the help
possible.

On behalf of Carol, N2MM, and myself, John, W2GD, thank you for your
assistance.

73,

John W2GD

p.s. I will send out an email containing log requirements, operating tips,
and other useful operator information the week before the start.

See ya' in the Pileups!
