I received the e mail that follows below from Fritz DF3OW, one of the German
Hams that organized their 100 year celebration in northern Germany.

We operated W2WSC from the Tuckerton Historical Society on Saturday with a
portable setup that performed well. We had many contacts. Saturday we also
contacted DL100OIU at the 100 year celebration but could not maintain a
contact to exchange the historic message exchanged by President Wilson and
Kaiser Wilhelm II. John Yates and Pete Stemmer gave a talk on the Tuckerton
Wireless. Many people attended the THS event.

Sunday we operated from the WSC site in West Creek. Using the TA33 beam and
Drake L7 amplifier we contacted DL100OUI for an extended period of time. The
900 watts and beam produced a 20db over signal in Germany allowing for an
uninterrupted exchange and clear frequency. The transmission was heard by
the German public at the celebration and I understand it was recorded by
German media. In any case the Germans were very happy with the QSO that was
central to their celebration.

My thanks for who participated.

I will have an article in the next OBARC newsletter on the event

Hello Steve,

very, very thanks for the great QSO about 13 utc this day.

=========================================================

Yesterday the conditions were not sufficient, but today

all are happy, operators and listeners.

Arno informed DL100OUI about his QSO with you and then all

happened perfect.

During the QSO I did my work together with other oms in

a pavillon in the pedestrian zone of Neustadt,

about 1 mile air-line distance from DL100OUI.

We were working as a sstv-station on VHF, corresponding

on 2m with DL100OUI, also to explain the

history of OUI to the people and to lead them to the

main amateur radio station on the other side of the river

named "Leine".

I got the information that during the QSO a reporter of

the newspaper "Leinezeitung" listened at the DL100OUI-Station.

On november the oms of the OUI-activity will meet in Neustadt.

There, all details, pictures and videos we will discuss and exchange.

After that, we will contact you again.

Because there are 2 weeks for waiting, both local radio clubs

asked me to write a first short email to you.

Steve, all members are very happy, your personal efforts made

it possible that we had a wonderful weekend with the celebration

of the 100th anniversary.

Best thanks and regards to all members of the

OBARC, especially N2OO and also to the Tuckerton Historical Society.

The history of OUI and WGG (WSC) and the inventions of Rudolf

Goldschmidt we will not forget. On the contrary, Ronald, DL6AM,

plans to clear all missing or incorrect datas, as accurately

as possible, because it seems that nobody has done this before

in germany.

So in the next year we will exchange emails again or use skype.

best regards

fritz, df3ow
