1                                           100 Year Anniversary Operating
Events WSC, Tuckerton Wireless and OUI, Eilvese, Germany 

 

  All OBARC and SJDXA members are invited to participate in two operating
events celebrating the 100 year anniversary of DL100OUI in EILVESE, GERMANY
Oct 19th and Oct 20th: 

 

1.      Saturday October 19th, setup at 10:00 PM, W2WSC/100 will operate
from the Tuckerton Historical Society   located at 35 Leitz Blvd. & Wisteria
Lane, Little Egg Harbor, N.J. 08087. 

 

2.      On Sunday October 20th at 8:00AM, W2WSC/WSC will operate from the
former WSC site (now WYRS-FM) located at the end of Murphy Drive off Route 9
in West Creek, NJ. W2WSC will attempt to contact DL100OUI in Elivese,
Germany during a town-wide celebration its 100 year anniversary. Due to time
difference this events will likely end around noon.

 

The event On Oct 20th as I understand from the German hams is significant
public event taking place in northern Germany.  A contact with Tuckerton is
central to their celebration. I understand German media may be present to
report the events. 

 

The Eilvese Wireless, call sign OUI, is WSC's sister station. Both were
virtually identical stations using Goldschmidt alternators. Tuckerton was
designed and built by the Germans.  An historic exchange of greetings
occurred on January 14, 1914 between President Wilson and Kaiser Wilhelm II.
The messages were sent through the high-power VLF stations in Tuckerton, NJ
and Eilvese, Germany.
