[SJDXA] Rudy Lehnert KB2XS

SJDXA members;

Rudy Lehnert KB2XS, one of our original SJDXA members became a silent key
back in September. 

His daughter Laurie just advised me of his passing.

 

Most of you did not know Rudy. He was a regular member of SJDXA in the early
years of our existence (1978 through the early 90's).

Rudy was responsible for handling equipment procurements for a few of our
DXpeditions back then since he had developed a relationship with ICOM
through his involvement with the Egg Harbor Yacht Co.

As I remember, Rudy owned a gourmet delicatessen in the Trenton area, and
afterwards became an owner and VP of Egg Harbor Yacht. I still remember the
private tour he gave me of their facility in Egg Harbor back in the 90's.

He was also an avid Sport Fisherman!

Rudy was one of the crew that rode out to Dayton every year in either Jim's
(WB2KXA) or Joe's (WA2ISM) van. He was especially remembered for his "flem
cutters" that he made for us in the room at Dayton! (a bloody Mary with
Clamato)!  J

 

Rudy was one of those very special people. RIP Rudy!   SK
