SJDXA Members,
Thank you for allowing me to be a member of the SJDXA.
Here is a brief run down on my Ham Radio career.
My love for all things radio started when I was 13 years old. I attend
Chelsea Vocational High School in New York City and took Radio and
Television as my main subject. The last term of high school our radio
communication instructor, a ham, taught us enough code and theory to pass
the Technician Class exam. I was issued WA2ACV in June 1958.
I got on the air in the early sixties with a Hallicrafter’s SR-34 6 & 2
meter transceiver and a Telrex 3 element 6 meter Yagi. Also had a Heathkit
Two-er and a 6 element home brew Yagi.
Nineteen years later I pass the general and advanced test and upgraded my
license. I operated mostly 2 meter base and mobile mostly.
Presently I operate a Flex 3000 into a ZS6BKW/G5RV antenna and have 2 meters
and 440 capabilities. I’m also into SWL, scanners, FTA television reception
and robotics. If you check out my call WA2ACV on QRZ, you will see a picture
of me.
Regards
Mike Libonati WA2ACV
