[SJDXA] Report on site activity Saturday April 20

Thanks to the following crew who came to the site Saturday and spent almost
the entire day there!

 

N2OO, W2ARP, W2OB, N2OZ, N2HM, KC2VBB, W2RDM.

 

We installed TWO 4x4 posts with a weather sealed box at eye level.

All old coax feeds have been tested AND repaired. We found 3 bad ones
(mini8). These were located to bein the coax connectors. New connectors have
been installed on the outside ends. 

In the rear box (nearest the short towers) we added 3 low loss DXE-400MAX
feedlines (similar to 9913) and 3 low loss DXE-8X feedlines to the existing
3 8X feedlines. 

In the north end box (NE beverage feeds) we removed one bad 8X feedline. We
tested and left one RG8 and one 8X feedline previously installed. We added
one low loss DXE-400MAX feedline and one low loss DXE-8X feedline.

 

All coax was brought through the crawlspace and into the shack. All are
numbered.

We still need to install connectors inside, and outside in the NE box.

All future beverage (or any other) feedlines will be brought into these
boxes up through a good sized OVC pipe that is mounted below the boxes, but
not all the way to the ground. In the future, all connecting will be done
inside the boxes and re-covered/ resealed.

 

We will now have plenty of GOOD coax and connectors which are all soldered,
and are well above ground, and inside weatherproof boxes.  

Still some work to do, but the toughest is done.
