I hope that everyone has made it through Sandy OK. I know a few members who
had some issues and our thoughts are with you all.
The W2WSC/100 Special Event operation got itself pushed off due to the
storm. Last Saturday we did the W2WSC/40 operation from the Tuckerton
Historical Society's museum in West Tuckerton. Thanks go to W2USF, W2ARP,
KC2AQU, K2TQN, W2DEC, N2MVN who joined me at the museum. The 2PM
presentation on the Tuckerton Wireless by John K2TQN was extremely well
received by the local crowd of about 30 people who showed up for it.
Now, it is time to restart W2WSC/100 for the 100th Anniversary of the
Tuckerton Wireless WSC.
After discussing a few things with Steve W2USF, we have decided to extend
the operation through Dec 31, 2012.
SJDXA members: In an effort to minimize showing up on the same band/mode at
the same time, we ask that you simply post a message to the OBARC discussion
list (OBARC members) or to THIS discussion list when you are going on the
air. Before you go on the air, check your discussion list messages to see if
anyone else is active. I know this might cause some confusion for our
non-OBARC members. So be it. Just get on and have fun. Watch spots for other
operations. But it is not a big deal if duplicate operations (band/modes)
happen.
That's pretty much it.
You must operate within the limits of YOUR license class.
Logs: Please keep an electronic log if you are able. After each operation,
send it to me n2oo at comcast.net and I will keep track of them here for Steve.
I need you to send me the ADIF logfile. Not sure? Drop me an email. Steve
W2USF will be handling the QSL cards. A very special 4 panel card is being
designed. So, be sure to WORK someone using W2WSC/100 as well.
If you do not do electronic logs, NO PROBLEM! Just keep an accurate paper
log and copy it, scan it, whatever is easiest and get it to me as quickly as
you can.
There will be a couple of operations from the West Creek site using
W2WSC/WSC. Nothing set yet as the site is still under issues from Sandy.
If anyone has any questions, drop me an email
This event (using W2WSC/100 from your home) is only for OBARC, SJDXA and
Tuckerton Wireless ARC members.
See ya' in the Pileups!
73!
