SJDXA members,

The latest WX forecast shows the worst of the WX will be Tuesday night and
things should start clearing out early Wednesday.

So, our SJDXA meeting is still on schedule for Wednesday night 730pm as
usual at the site.

Please start thinking about "if" you will be participating in the 160 SSB
contest at the end of the month?

If you will, then we will need to know when you will plan to come?

I am thinking about scheduling operators this year (with backups) in order
to maximize proficiency during the appropriate timeframes for European
propagation and minimize the overnight duties and give everyone a chance to
do some operating.

This year we will be using our shack FT1000MKV and the Drake L7. We will
also have Marty's (W2CG) Alpha amplifier and my K3.

If someone has a better amp than our shack L7, then we'll gladly accept it.

We will be needing a couple of radios. One for the "slave" position. One or
two as backups. Also, we need a voice keyer to attach to the MKV. (The K3
has one internal).

That is where we are at right now.

After Wednesday's meeting, we'll have a better handle on our plans. Just
wanted everyone to start thinking about it.

The antennas and the beverages are all in MINT condition this year after a
lot of hard work by the W2GD team and SJDXA helpers. So, I am anticipating a
FUN time this year, and if we plan well, and play our cards right, we have a
really good chance of winning! But the competition will be tough again this
year. I do not know who else is planning to operate as multi-ops this year.

If you can be available on Friday during the day for setup, that would be
great as well. All the beverages should be walked to make sure that they are
intact. We might want to tweak the transmit antennas for the SSB band as
well. And the shack setup will be challenging as always.

Hope everybody is working the VP8ORK DXpedition! I got them on 40 and 30 so
far. They are weak, but don't let that fool you. They are running "light"
with verticals and 100w. So, they can HEAR very well.

See ya' in the Pileups!

73!
