[SJDXA] 10 meter contest

Did anyone else run the 10 meter contest? I just pulled the plug because I have some things to do tonight and I thought I would end the contest on a really good last qso! JA7OWD was 20 over 9!

After years of fighting with the town, my station really performed. I have a TH7DX at 55 feet, A 5 element monobander at 30 feet fixed at Europe and a 2 element quad at 90 feet. Using N1MM logging software and those great Heil headsets that N2OO said was a must have and my FT-920 running QRP per the rules and no packet cluster, I swept the band repeatedly. Phone only.

I missed MS, KY and Ohio for worked all states and finished at 553 qso’s with 113 mults score 147,098. Much better than my 15,900 last year. Propagation was exceptional. Some west coast stations here were 60 over 9.

I will submit my score as a club score as well.

Hope to see everyone at the next meeting.

SJDXA members;

The 10 meter contest will be held this weekend.

With 10 meters open now, this should be a fun contest for sure!

Are you planning to operate?

Here are the rules in case you will be active:

http://www.arrl.org/10-meter

Please note that Mexican states COUNT:

4.1. W/VE stations (including Hawaii and Alaska) send RS(T) and state or province (District of Columbia stations send signal report and DC).

4.2. DX stations (including KH2, KP4, etc) send RS(T) & sequential serial number starting with 001.

4.3. Mexican stations transmit RS(T) and their state.

4.4. Maritime mobile stations send RS(T) and ITU Region (R1, R2 or R3).

See the list at the bottom of the rules above for the Mexican state abbreviations.

As of this time, nobody came forward showing interest in activating N2CW at the site for this contest. So, I will assume that many of you may get on the air from home.

If you will be submitting a score for SJDXA, for all ARRL contests be sure to spell it:

South Jersey DX Association

For all CQ contests:

South Jersey DX Assn

HAVE FUN!

See ya' in the Pileups!
