As discussed at the meeting, I checked the rules and they are similar to the
160 contest rules.

The ARRL 10 meter contest rules state:

6. Miscellaneous:
6.1. Single operator mixed-mode and multioperator stations may work
stations once on CW and once on SSB.
6.2. Your call sign must indicate your DXCC country if competing as
DX. (N6TR in Oregon does not send N6TR/7, but K1NO in Puerto Rico must send
K1NO/KP4).
6.3. All entrants may transmit only one signal on the air at any
given time.
6.4. All CW contacts must take place below 28.3 MHz.

So, as I read this, we can have a second station serving as a "MULT"
station. As long as we observe rule 6.3 we are good. I see no reference to a
time limit once you start on a particular mode.

So, if we want to set up a second station utilizing a second antenna
(monobander as discussed) that would be allowed.

So, for example, a CW op could scour the CW band and "stop" the SSB op from
transmitting while he worked someone on CW.

Or, a SSB op could call CQ on one freq while someone on the second radio is
scouring the SSB band for new QSO's. As long as only one signal is
transmitted at a time, all is swell.

Or, even this.. We work someone on SSB and we send him down to CW to a
specific freq where the mult station op works him.

Such as:

W2OB you are 59 SNJ

QSL, N2CW you are also 59 SNJ

TNX W2OB please QSY to 28.290 for a CW QSO?

QSL, will do.

(N2CW SSB op tells MULT stn to listen for W2OB on 28.290 CW)

And so on.

Please, correct me if I am wrong.

As such, if there is interest and if the gang wants to set it up, the 10
meter monobander is available as is the tower trailer.

BTW, I invited members of the Old Barney ARC to join us for the contest.
We'll see how many accept.

See ya' in the Pileups!
