I just wanted to touch base, concerning the six meter beacon here, I don't remember the folks that had sent it to me, however, it was a beacon group which you may be a part of,  we had a few power issues a few weeks ago, we were able to get to the repeater and beacon site yesterday since then, only to find the power supply got hit and had 23 volts at its outputs,  all the repeaters and the beacon fried, very surprising the SCR didn't fire to protect the equipment, such for this Astron 50M 

I started looking at the Maxar-80 6m beacon radio, which is the first I decided to check, as we are in the E season, I don't have a manual, as I would like to get one, the transistors listed, are thus far bad, and I would like to get some as well (M1102, M1130, M9654, and 9641), there is a burnt resistor, I will need the schematic to locate it value, I took a photo of its location on the board,     

Can you kindly send out a notice to the 6m beacon group, please, it would be good to get a complete working 6m beacon and antenna system, this Maxar-80 has worked for many many years without any problem at all, I will prefer to get two more of these radio as 6m beacon on v4, this radio and the antenna, worked for more than 18 years flawlessly, 

Please send them also, my email address so they can contact me directly, I will still like to fix this broken one, so i will like to get some parts for it, thanks in advanced Joey, 

I am still not yet settled from my fire losses of last year, but are rebuilding little by little,

To the BEST of my knowledge. Every BIT of information from the OLD website
is GONE ! when they came to my house they took with them everything I had

I have a Yaesu FT-690R II with mic.

(It's a 2.5w rig with a front BNC for portable ops or a 10w
rig using the included 10w FL-6020 amp. The amp clips on
to the back and has a standard SO-239 UHF connector.)

It appears to be working fine (limited testing) but will need
the 8-pin mic connector replaced (I used alligator clips on
the unsoldered wires to test the rig).

Sold as-is. No Paypal. USPS MO preferred. $225. shipped
to standard USA addresses.

I did try to resolder to the existing mic connector but it's too
messed up and I don't have time for this right now as I'm
prepping for the SE-GA TRGA group to do Field Day.

Includes the attached pigtail with bare wire for DC power.

I'm Sorry.

 THEY are LISA LOWELL & her Husband George,  ( he is now a SK ) he started the club. He owned the web site & the INFO inside it. Sometime around 2013 is my guess. They came to my House & got everything I had. HE then redid it all. But no one was interested. & 6 months later he took the entire thing DOWN lock stock & Barrel. I have no way of REPLACING it as I have nothing left.   Jerry W9FS MIGHT have some stuff. From his time. BUT I have ZILCH.

I?ll take a look around.  I hosted the site at one point and for years had a backup of everything.  About a year ago I sent the servers to be recycled so it?s doubtful I still have a copy but I?ll check the backup server and see if we get lucky.

Todd,

How much time do you have ?

Are you good at modifications ?

Do you already have a CB ?

Do you have a CW keyer with a built-in delay
( or a computer with soundcard CW beacon software or FT8 if you prefer ) ?

If yes to most, I'd say go for it.

If not, start looking for an older six meter radio for your beacon radio.

Sounds like a good project !

I have a Yaesu FT-690R II all-mode 6m 10w mobile.

It appears to work fine (it came to me with some other gear).

I need to replace the mic connector to conduct a full test.

I don't intend to keep this as I have an Icom IC-7100 that meets the need.

Any interest? If not I guess it goes to the usual sites ...
