It is with Great sadness that I have to report to the Amateur radio world
that WA4VUT is now a silent key.
Mr. William B. Eden passed away Saturday Dec.13, 2014 at 9:30pm.
Arrangements are being made for the Dec.17th, star time TBA as soon as we
know.
A true friend Bert was. We fished together and told stores of fishing trips
and deer hunting too. We looked for buried treasure with a pair of metal
detectors, but the true treasure we found was just being together.
We talked all over the world to all kinds of operators, but I liked sitting
back in Bert's visitor's chair hearing him in a QSO till lunch, when I would
hear the phone ring.
It was his XYL saying, "Ya'll come and eat". Gloria would then say "Bert,
don't make come out there !".
We flew high in the sky together with our radio controlled airplanes,
gliders and helicopters.
It was hours of fun and friendship that will never leave my memory-
Bert climbing a tree after his airplane is like watching a monkey in a tree.
That 80 year old man was doing better than me!
Or how about 28 lbs of big mouth bass, that's only two fish!
Bert did it, two 14 lb bass hangs on the wall over his easy chair.
To WA4VUT/sk Bert Eden De N4UXY Danny Carpenter saying - you will be
missed!
best regards 73
