You might try one of the old Heathkit SSB adapters (SB-10). some
modification is going to be required to the 10 meter circuits. B&W made one
as well, these took already good HF AM rigs to SSB. For sure it will be a
project. They also made (i.e. HC-10 Hammerlund) receiver product detectors,
just have to pay attention to the IF frequency. That would be a good project
and while your at it you might add a RF stage.
