[SixClub] Windows on Mac

If you haven't had a PC since 2005 no wonder you don't know much about the
newer Windows or PC's... Blue screens and lockups? Must have been a crappy
PC, I haven't had a blue screen since.... Hmm... I need to sit and think
about that. I think the last time I saw a bluescreen on my computers was
back in the windows 98 days? Hold on, I might have had one once on XP from
a bad stick of memory, hardly Microsofts fault though.

A lot of ham software is available for Linux, that’s a good option actually!
You could get a Raspberry Pi and run that, I know guys that do everything on
it, from PSK to SSTV to the latest digital modes. Getting a sound card
working on it is the hardest part.

I have started using FreeDV on HF, two PCI-Express soundcards and a quality
headset along with my homebrew radio interface and I was on the air in a
matter of minutes, Windows 7 plays quite nicely with multiple soundcards. I
have one dedicated to the radio interface.

Thanks for all the comments gang! I see I have a lot of thinking to do.
After years of fighting "the blue screen of death",constant lock-ups and all
the other issues common to Bill Gates Edsel I moved to Mac in 2005 and like
the old saying goes...."once you've had Mac.you never go back". Sadly way
too many software writers have drank the microsoft "kool-aid".

I guess the next thing is to see how many ham software programs will run on
variations of Linux or other OS.
Thanks again!
