Dave,
I was once in your place. I had ignored CW for a long spell (over 12 years) and then I decided I was missing out on alot of prime DX for not doing CW. I started over and you know, I was really surprised how fast it came back to me. After just a short time of reimmersion, I can now copy 18-20 wpm QSOs and for contest style exchanges (i.e. my call and an expected exchange format), upwards of 35 wpm. As a result, I went from basically no or very little (less than 5) CW DX QSLs to DXCC CW awarded in less than 2 years of casual ops and contesting. And I was only a 13wpm General for code.
Go for it - start slow and soon it will come right back. Like riding a bike or tying your shoes. Besides, what have you got to loose beside beating a few brain cells into submission :)
As for sending, if you haven't the dexterity, use digital mode software in CW mode and send via a keyboard. Many ops do that now anyway.
Hope to hear you on CW soon :)

My "digits" aren't coordinated enough for CW ... and the synapses in
my cerebral aurora seem to be CW-resistant as well.
I passed 20WPM back in '90, did it listening to tapes in the car
while commuting back and forth from work, but (like the Spanish I
once studied) lack or use means lack of recall ... can't even copy
5WPM any more ... sigh.
