Worked KK5W today from SD, W0BXO 2A SD. Was nice hearing 6m up and
running!! Got a lot of good 6m contacts before breaking down for the night,
hoping to do an all nighter next year just wasn’t in the cards this time.

Subject: [SixClub] 6, today
Was in Houston today (had to take a test for a possible job with ATT...keep
the fingers crossed!) and visited the Brazos Valley ARC FD site (we shared a
2m rptr freq 20 yrs ago on 145.47 with me at 440 on smokestack-rptr in an
outdoor cabinet on a platform at 440ft...20ft of 1/2in to the
antenna!)...They were 5A and had a VHF station on the air....running a 5
element beam at 30ft, the band was OPEN for contacts today...they were
working all over the east and midwest...
Good to see the band was alive for FD!!!! If you worked KK5W, I was there
but didn't operate...Have some pics I took with the cellphone..may try to
post them on my web site on Earthlink...
Hoping everyone is working 6 on FD.....and the band is good to you!!
