Most of that power can be used legally, just not the speed.
I drove a corvette powered Trans Am for years. I firmly believe that
big engine and tire combination saved my life while the car itself did
so again a second time when the SUV shot out in front of me.

I was sitting at a stoplight in t he left lane out of 3 on the way home
from work. Two lanes of traffic was crossing left to right in front of
me when I saw a large van coming up behind me. He was getting close and
moving fast. I realized he was not going to stop, I laid on the horn and
floored that TA and shot through the crossing traffic. It left two
smoldering strips right through the intersection and a cloud of tire
smoke you could not see through. I topped 50 (in a 30 zone ) as to the
right center lane as he passed me.

But, yes, I agree that would be dangerous for most owners. OTOH an 80 hp
4 cylinder is dangerous for most drivers when you look at the overall
quality of most drivers out there.

OTOH that Caddy is only a paltry $63K. The hand made, carbon fiber
Lexus OTOH is $350 K and has a 550 HP V-10 engine that will get 0-60 in
about 3 seconds and a top speed of 202 mph.

Yes, I want one of those even at my age, but would likely never qualify
for one of the limited edition.

BUT I'd also like a Yaesu FTDX5000MF for the shop and for the Den with
auto tune amps feeding the signals to vertical arrays on 160 and 75,
with stacked OWAs on 40, and up. While a quadrature array of LONG OWAs
on 6. 50 MHz and up would have arrays for EME

Actually these new stations would reside in my *new* "green" house
independent from the grid and shop with full basements where I'd have
enough room that leaving a magazine on the floor would not make the
place looked trashed. (we have a small home for retirement)

As long as we are wishing/dreaming I want both along with a complete
restoration of the Deb, but I'm about as likely to get the car as I am
the big station, or house and shop. Course...I might wind the lottery<:-))

Even at my age I can still dream. <sigh><:-))
