Current running price for them is $32.50 plus $24.50 shipping for one from
QRO-Parts. Most of the cheaper ones on eBay have dried up now also. You
can get them from that guy in Ukraine off eBay for $47.00 plus $19.00
shipping for a pair, but your going to wait a while, last guy I heard that
bought from him waited four weeks for delivery but were good tubes and well
packed. I always order these Russian variants from QRO-Parts since they
have a US dealer now and you can get them in a less than a week so its worth
the extra cost if your in a hurry.

You can also get a single socket and tube from other sources for about $100
for the set. So it would be $200 to get two tubes and sockets.

I haven't seen cheap ones for about half a year or so now, these used to be
$25 tubes on eBay all day long, I think the large sources for them are
slowly drying up so that only the guys charging more have some left. I
bought some spares for my amp just in case.

I have put a GI6B in my amp in place of the 7 just for testing purposes,
can't get the same power out, takes more drive and I can only get about
300-350w reliably, could be a faulty tube but I tried a couple different
ones that another ham gave me to try. Dropped the 7 back in and right back
to 500w, although I usually keep it around 300w. I might remodel my amp
slightly and drop in a second tube yet.

73,

We double-doubled ... sort of.

$120. for a pair of GI-7b's? That seems high - does that
include the sockets?

I have seen them for less than $20. each ... and if you
happen upon a GI-6b they go really cheap and are the same
tube as the GI-7b up through VHF ... I have one sitting
on the desk ...
