A pair of GI-6b or GI-7b's are pretty cheap and work
fine into VHF (the GI-7b's into UHF).

Roll yer own, mod something, or buy one already modded.

Lots cheaper than the platinum-plated new rigs ... and
electrons aren't proud about the looks or the nameplate.
