Download Puppy Linux - Fluppy 010 and forget MS.

It is optimized for older laptops, and newer netbooks, and will
use your resources more efficiently than anything from MS.

I have digital modes running, and rig control of my FT-857D.

Lots of other free home, office, Ham apps are available as well.
