[SixClub] LightSquared's potential interference to GPS

It has made the front page of FoxNews online:

LightSquared is sounding a little defensive and whoever wrote the
story doesn't appear to really understand the technology.  They
didn't even mention all of the land-based transmitters!

Pretending that consumer-grade GPS devices should be expected to be 
shielded and filtered well enough to resist desensing when in close 
proximity to their land based transmitters is dishonest, at best.
They were designed without any reasonable expectation that the FCC
would ever consider such a hare-brained scheme.

Of course he could be in-league with GPS device manufacturers
because users would be forced to junk their current devices in
favor of more costly heavily shielded and filtered replacements.

Also, no one mentioned the potential of the massive-power land
based transmitters to desense completely unrelated radio equipment.

I wonder about portable medical electronics???
