I belong to the Willamette Valley DX Club which is the ARRL 7 call area
QSL Bureau, and one of our club members Steve K6UM got a card from Bosnia
Herzegovina for a 6 meter QSO on 20 June 2010 at 16:22 UTC & a 5x9 report
with Grid Square JN84IX. Pretty good contact considering Steve is on West
Coast. I hope band conditions improve soon here. Eastern Stations get far
more 6 meter openings than we get out here west of the Rocky Mountain range.
BTW I am retired from the Auto Salvage & Emergency Towing industries,
and have had hands on experience with nearly ALL Cars from early 30's to mid
90's. I've spent over 50 years heavily involved in Circle Track Auto Racing
mosly on the Short Tracks of the 11 Western States in Sprint Cars both
winged & non winged.. I still keep a Dirt Late Model "OUTLAW" car & an Open
Comp Stock Car. If anyone cares to look, I've photos of my current Race
Cars, and former ones in the Photo Gallery of my website at
http://www.w7car.com. The Lavender & Black # 15 is the "OUTLAW" car, and the
Orange & Silver # 57 is the Open Comp Stock Car. The "OUTLAW" car weighs
2,030 pounds with a full load (36 gallons) of pure Methanol fuel and me (287
pounds) in the car. It is Mid Engined car with 358 cubic inch Small Block
Chevrolet doing 840 Horsepower at 7,000 RPM & 723 foot pounds of Torque. Car
has often run mid 13 second laps on Willamette Speedway's one third mile
Clay Track that is famous for it's Dry Slick track surface conditions. July
2007 was my 50th consecutive Anniversary of West Coast Circle Track Racing
seasons. All I'll ever prove as a Car Owner, Builder, Driver is already
History, but it's still FUN. I build all my own cars, and many of their
various parts which is a financial plus in staying in the game.

Yours in the Hobby,
