Being as everyone else joined in, in 1970 I had a Ford Torino GT coupe,
was fully equipped with exception of power seats, rear view mirrors &
headlight covers.

Discovered this machine with a 351 Cleveland head & single carb., could
outrun a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner with a 383 engine & 4 bl. carb, lesson
learned late Saturday night or Sunday morning on a portion of incomplete
I-610 West Loop from Memorial drive into City of Bellaire, Tx. (Key word
Bellaire), going over US-59 SW Freeway
& into Bellaire, there on the left breakdown lane is Bellaire PD &
radar gun, bashful me does not remember exact speed, but was over 100
mph in a 55 mph zone & my 70 Ford Torino was leading by a car & half
length..

Saving grace, the officer was a close friend of both participants & ran
security at the drive-in theater both of us worked at..

Lesson was listening to night shift sergeant give a lengthy speech & the
fact that if we pulled the same hair-brained thing again, it would mean
a LONG TRIP to the county jail...

It sank in...! I however did get more than my fair share of speeding
tickets from Houston, PD in the 2 years I owned the car & took nearly 10
years to work off the high RISK driver penalty of my insurance carrier..

Now back to the lousy weather & 6M
