Well, I do have the AV640 up. It needs a bit of tweaking on both 40 and 
six but the SWR at resonance is much higher than it used to be. When I 
first installed it the SWR was practically 1.1:1 at resonance on all 
bands.  The antenna has been moved around a lot so I pretty much know 
what to expect in any given location and these readings are well outside 
what I'd expect.

I do expect it's time to disassemble the thing and recondition it while 
weather proofing all connections and giving all fiberglass insulators a 
good coat of resin. It is showing some black powder on the bottom 
insulator from the fiberglass abrading the aluminum.

What shape the 4:1 balun is in, I don't know and I've not had the 
matching network apart since it sat out all winter.

BTW, doc, you'd love the following WX forecast:  Winter Weather Advisory 
with 3 to 6 inches of snow from now until Noon tomorrow (Monday) Snow 
fall will exceed an inch per hour at times with visibilities less than a 
quarter mile.

This is for the lower Peninsula of Michigan, but FORTUNATELY it's well 
to the South of us with the Northern edge being at roughly Lansing or 60 
miles South of us. <:-))  I hope it stays there.
