The 70-050 is a Syntech I series...uses a 2716 EPROM module called the
Z273....cannot be programmed via software UNLESS you have the 70-1000C or X
from the Aussie guys ;)  I have both programmers as well as an original
Midland 70-1000 which is a standalone programmer and a rare bird to
find..even on Ebay they command high prices..the new 70-1000X PC programmer
from Australia is an excellent one to get...about $200 US.

The Syntech IIs (70-05xxC) are 320 channel and are slightly smaller...they
show up on Ebay for about the same costs....Excellent rig for all 6m rptr
and simplex channels and plenty left over!

If anyone needs a ST I (Syntech One) series reprogrammed, get with me...I
have all the gear (UV light, etc) to do it..
