Lotta money for a converted plasma generator even if it does look nice.
Get a 4CX3000 or a pair of 8877's to put some muscle in there. <:-))
Actually a YC156 Triode, tested pull, for half the price of an imported
8877 (in the $300-$400 range) will give the legal limit out on six with
40 watts or less drive and 3KV on the plate. Doesn't require a socket
either. 15V @ 15A for the filament at only 225 watts, but a 6 minute
warm up. At the legal limit you'd be able to cool it with a good muffin
fan. Tis a bit heavy at a tad over 9# and 9" tall makes it a bit tight
in a desk top model. BUT run it at that legal limit and 3KV it'd
probably still be working for your great, great, grandkids. To top it
off you could use one of the old Henry floor model cabinets for
camouflage with either tube and end up with most of the parts.

And you don't have a long warm up time on the Tetrode at almost instant
on...course it does take 375 watts to light the fire...and you'll have
to change all the coax and fittings. Before you reach 10 KW the ends
start melting off the driven elements and directors. Of course you could
then go to folded dipole elements. <:-)), 7/8" Heliax and 7-16 DIN
connectors. Might have to pass on the ICE and other lightning prevention
though. The Tetrode also takes a king size version of the 4CX1500B
socket which is a tad pricey though.

I wonder if the neighbors are still using channel 2 for the output on
their TV set accessories?<:-)) Satellite receivers let you use way up
into the 70's for channel output.

Then again, Emtron makes a beautiful 6-meter amp (DX-2SPV) that matches
their HF (DX-2SP) model. (Both should have been on display at Dayton).
Either just loafs along at the legal limit and will run 100% duty cycle
on digital. It only takes money and I'm sure Rudi would be glad to
build another one... Now I wonder who'd give me a low interest loan to
purchase one? Problem is, on a pension and SS I'd still have to figure
out how to pay it back.

Actually he sells a DX-5 that uses a 4CX-5000R and separate 3 phase
power supply...not all countries are limited to 1500 watts out. <:-))

Well, time to quit dreaming and come back to reality.
