Facebook might be a passing fad - but it is another step in the evolution of online interconnection.  Young people use it intensely.  If we are to reach out to children and young adults to be interested in ham radio, we can't ignore things like Facebook - or Yahoo groups for that matter.
 
The National Weather Service has setup the ability to receive Weather TWEETS - in the hopes of enlisting youth in becoming SKYWARN members.  
 
It would seem that setting up a Facebook page on the topic of 6m amateur radio is apropos - and would at least provide a reference to the topic and how to find others that might be interested.
