Interestingly, I cannot hear signals without the pre-amp
in my DX-70 full-on and the noise blanker on as well.

The problem is that the noise blanker tends to distort
the audio when the pre-amp is full-on.

Joey needs to bump-up the prop just a wee bit more so
that I have enough signal to turn down the pre-amp a
notch!  :-)
