I know about your wx .. usually accompanied by high humidity which I'll pass
on and keep the 100+ temps. Our problem of recent years out here is the
build up of housing has brought pools, lawns and trees- all which require
water and give off humidity. 25 years ago when I came west to the desert,
anything over 8% RH was a humid day. Now the norm is around 18-22% most days
and that is the lower threshold where swamp coolers, which is the main
cooling here, start to lose efficiency. My shack gets to around 85-88 degF
every afternoon and the cooler (6500 CFM) runs 24x7 lately). And
Californians haven't had a decent electric bill in years.

Just the last few days.  6m has been crap here the entire month of July
except for July 3rd and 4th.  Other than that, very sparce openings.  We
will send you some cold air-only 98 here today.
