The Tokyo Hy-Power HL-1.5Kfx is sold and the contest is WHEN?
Now I have to find all the cables (already have most) and finish packing
(it's already in the original boxes)
I have to get the 76A, HT-33B, and 2002A checked out and photographed
which is no small task as those things are *heavy* and considerably
larger than the solid state amp. So I know what I'm going to be doing
this week.
I hope the week end and next week go better though. (some have already
seen this)I had a contractor call in the evening after I put up the add
for the amps that he was coming the next day to replace the man door on
my shop. Water had gotten under the existing one, ruined the door sill
insert and the bottom of the door while ice had pulled part of the seal
AND the door frame was starting to fall apart due in no small part to
some one trying to kick the door in a few years back. They didn't get
far as there is a 1/8" steel insert 2" wide on the latch side that is
lag bolted into the building frame. I hope they still limp. (That's
being charitable)<:-))
At any rate, I spent the rest of the night cleaning in the shop, they
turned up around 9:00 or so, and were ready to install the door when I
discovered it was just an expensive copy of the old door, when had
stated I wanted on to open outward. That's a good idea for shops, and an
OSHA requirement for commercial shops. I really gotta' get one of those
Yellow cabinets for the chemicals out there.
But at any rate, as it was a custom, insulated, galvanized, special
order door it is not returnable. Now I'm waiting for the proper door to
arrive. AND trying to finish up testing and checking out the three amps
for output and finish. I also have to finish photographing them and put
those images up on the net.
Back to the contest: I was thinking of just sticking up a 1/4 wave
vertical for the contest as I've had good luck with them, but there's a
foot and a half of snow out there that's really slippery and the ground
is uneven. Out temps are just getting above freezing for highs which is
well above normal for this time of year and makes walking on it like
walking on grease. That left leg is working pretty good on flat ground
that ISN'T slippery. <:-))
Whether I get on or not, I hope the band opens and you all "work the world"
