Evening all,
I have a question that I hope someone on this list might be able help
me with or at least point me in a good direction to find the answer.
The problem is that I would like to try 6m PSK-31. Now getting PSK to
work is not an issue. I already work 20m and 40m, but have never
tried 6. Now for the questions I have. I have 2 6m rigs. One is a
Yaesu FT-620b and the other is the Ranger RCI-5054dx (not the 100w
version). Both use 6pin mic plugs and they're not interchangeable. I
have a Rigblaster M8 that use with my Yaesu FT-7 (the mic connector
mis-match isn't important since I only use the rig for PSK and don't
have the mic hooked up).
Looking in the book that came with the rigblaster and on
westmountain's website, I'm unable to find the jumper settings I would
need to hook either of my rigs to the rigblaster. Besides, I'm not
sure how to wire up the mic connector too. I'm guessing that if I
understood the design of the rigblaster better, I would be able to
wire it up anyway I want. But, I'm not 100% sure about that.
So, any suggestions. I'd prefer not to have to buy another rig just
to try PSK-31 on 6m, nor would I want to buy another rig/pc interface
device. I'm not above building a device if the parts are readily
available.
One more thing, if it helps, I have a way to get a rigblaster NOMIC if
it would be better. But, again, it has an 8 pin mic connector made up
for it.
Lastly, in this project, I would prefer to use the Yaesu FT-620b rig
as the PSK rig if at all possible since it is older and I'd like to
use the Ranger mobile one day and the Yaesu will never be mobile, at
least while I own it.
73 and hope to catch in the logs one day,
Eric
