welll... wish I could but...I have to maintain my happy home and I have
an allergy to dividing my assets.
I wasn't sure if it was appropriate or not.
$2600 for the HL-1.5Kfx It has no marks or scratches, looks like new,
runs 1 KW +/- 100 watts SSB and CW out on HF with 800 on 6-meters while
staying cool and quiet. Auto band switching, but is is particularly
sensitive to SWR. The output will drop off by 100 to 200 watts by the
time you hit 1.3:1 which makes a tuner essential for HF, but it'll hit
800 on six over the bottom 200 -250 KHz or where ever the antennas is
set up for. Around 1.5:1 the protection circuit will trip. It has a very
good protection circuit which will shut down do to: wrong band, too much
drive, too much voltage, and too high an SWR.
I've heard it described like an extension to your transceiver and it is
with the auto band switching. the Icoms including the 7000 are very easy
to hook up as are the larger Yaesus, but the small Yaesus use a mini-DIN
connector. They may have a cable for those with the amp now, but not
when I received it. I used part of an Apple printer cable for the
Mini-DIN end and installed the larger DIN for the amp end.
$1100 for the Alpha 76A which also runs full output. She may be old, but
still looks good. Not like new, but good with few beauty marks.
I also have a henry 2002A for 2-meters @ $800. Last time I ran it I got
800 to over 1000 PEP and CW out. However I haven't had the filaments on
in over 3 years. My little health problem from April 2007 through april
of 2009 kinda put a damper on that project. Although I am kinda thinking
of an expanded project now.
The reason I'm putting these amps up for sale is I'm looking at moving
up to the Emtrons for HF and 6-meters although I might use the 76A as
the basis for a 6-meter conversion.
I shouldda purchased that 4CX1500B from you doc.
