Hi Richard
I am new to six meters, but I am an active contester, and I have some
station improvements in the works for this summer. Not sure how these ideas
will play on 6 meters, but here goes with some suggestions.
I like the Stew Perry contest for 160 meters.

There are no multipliers. Exchange is grid square, and the more distance
between grid squares, the more points you get. There is also additional
points for working low power and QRP stations. Final scoring is done by the
contest sponsor based on received logs where the power is reported. I am
assuming high power (>100 watts) is assumed is not log is received. This
also adds some extra incentive to make sure folks DO sumbit their logs.
I am not sure if it should be a mixed mode (work each station twice) vs
separate weekends for each mode.
I would avoid the last weekend in June (Field Day).
Once the rules are nailed down, let the programmers of the major contesting
packages know so they can add support into their programs. Assuming you
follow the Stew Perry, folks could use this contest, and just submit their
logs...
I would *strongly* encourage electronic logs vs paper logs. Problem with
paper logs is that someone needs to type them in/convert them to electronic
format. Best to not encourage this, but I do understand there are some
folks that still prefer paper logs...
Guess this could serve as a starting point.
