Read Bill W5WVO's "upgrade" of the A50-5; it WORKS then....a 10ft boom was
too short...I used the specs the ARRL had on a similar 5 element on a 12ft
boom in their old VHF/UHF Manual and made it a 4 element on a 10ft
boom...home made gamma match and it worked GREAT!!! Not bad for a 15 yr old
using conduit and a 10ft pipe boom....drilled the conduit elements and use
muffler clamps to hold them to the boom...wouldnt recommend it for high
winds but hey, what did I know then (36 yrs ago)

Why anybody would use this antenna as a 5 element beam is beyond me.
Afterall, you can use the element you take off and make a 6 meter dipole for
FM!
Hearing is a physical process....listening is a mental process
