The snow falling in the South, is simply result of evaporating polar 
ice coming South that will eventually raise ocean levels on the Gulf 
& Atlantic coasts..

This winter, the Polar cap is pretty far off the Alaska North Slope, 
where it's normally seamless during winter months..
