My guess is, it started out life as a dielectric or RF induction heater,
or plasma generator, then some one modified it to run as a single band
amp. The only mods may be the keying along with the input and output
lines. There are some labels on the RF deck which is why I figure it's
not exactly home brew.

The rated output of the 3CX3000A7 varies from 6KW to a bit over 7200
watts depending on the plate voltage.
OTOH driving power runs from just under 300 to over 400 watts. So with a
100 watts drive it's probably the legal limit with only a little
overhead. BUT at that power level you could probably cool it with a
muffin fan<:-))
Now make that a 4CX3000A7 and a slight breeze would require most
stations to replace their coax and antennas with something a bit beefier.
