I've installed lots of 7/8" connectors. They are easier than soldering 
PL259s. <:-)), Plus the center pin just screws into the center "tube". 
No soldering at all. Just cut, trim, debur, and install...don't forget 
the gasket.

However, now being retired, although that place has some good prices 
they are now a bit beyond my budget.<sigh>
I'm used to loading up the pickup truck with 7/8" for $25 to $100, but 
I've not done that for quite a while.

Maybe when I win the lottery<:-))
