At the risk of getting flamed.........
I park on 50.125 and I suspect everyone else does also ( ?? ).
IF you run PSK-31 or any of the soundcard modes and use the
Reid-Solomon ID feature of a program like HRD , the program can alert
you when anyone else
uses the RSID without even having to monitor the channel noise.
Establish contact and move 15KC up and complete the QSO. Switch to SSB
if you need the grid square on SSB.
Until the sunspots can support 12-18 hour communications, we should
all take advantage of internet reporting.... again my only experience
is with HRD's PSKReporter. Even if you aren't in the shack, HRD will
monitor from your location, and send received calls back to the
website, allowing others to know when an opening is starting.
