I don't recall a B model...AND IIRC the 45 was solid state and no
tubes??....a "local" back in the 70s had one in his car and his XYL was
licensed..they would talk 50.4 every day as he drove home from work (about a
45-50mile commute!) They had a G50 at the house with a 4el horiz yagi...and
a gnd plane at the top of his 70ft tower...he ran a whip mobile...I ran
across him one day with my T60 and NC300 w/ Heathkit converter on
it.....later stopped off at his QTH on the way to our family lake house
which was about 20 m north of him
