With me, if I hear 6M activity on reciever, by the time I jump in my truck &
get away from buildings, 6M is most often dead..
I'm strictly mobile & only have receiver to scan for activity on a
clandestine wire antenna in my 1st. floor apartment, so have to be mobile to
transmit, but on rare occasions will pick up activity when out running
errands..
Yeasu FT-857D is pretty decent radio for it's size, once one learns the
menu's.. (No switches & easy to use knobs (Other than tuner, as friends with
home based rigs swear to [NOT at].).
