Hi doc,

I've been looking for a 4CX1600B, but as they are no longer made are
replacements sure are hard to find. I've almost settled on the
GU74/4CX2500 imports to build amps for HF, six, and two-meters.

If you still have the parts, e-mail me off list with a list and price.

I'm recuperating today from burying 2" conduit to get three CAT6 and 4
or 5 runs of RG6 to the shop from the house. I had to work under a
couple of grounding cables which left me lifting in a bad position and
then finish by pulling in the three 133' runs. I'm paying for it today.

I may have made a mistake, but I decided to try something different with
the conduit. As there is a good 3" overlap at the joints I greased them
liberally with Silicone (Dow Corning DC-4 Compound) and then drove the
sections together. They are actually under pressure so unless the house
moves with the spring thaw it should make a good system with the conduit
being reusable.

I also have larger underground conduit.from the shop to tower and house
to tower with remote switches at the base of the tower which lets me run
single operator, two radios (SO2R)

I currently use either an older Icom 756 Pro, or the little Yaesu 897D
to drive the solid state FL-1.5Kfx which gives about 800-900 out on six.
Unfortunately I have to work on the 7L C3i Yagi before I'll have much
going on six.

As to the market, if you can hang on for another 6 months it should
improve ( I hope). My retirement is almost back to where we started out
and far better than the first of the year.
