I've been a ham since early 61 and haven't even made WAS although I do
have RCC if I could find it in all the *stuff* around here. <:-))

I have over the years had stations that varied from very simple to
contest style with a complete station on each band. Currently it's some
where in between as an *almost* SO2R with some work required on the
antennas, cables, and controls.
I have literally thousands of hours on-the-air, thousands of hours
working on stations, many hours in public service and even worked a few
contests. In the contests I start out great, but after a few hours the
thrill wears off and it becomes SOS (for lack of a better term) and I
lose interest. With equipment I tend toward building as I did with the
tower and antennas. However, as I'm now retired, on a pension with SS,
AND the market has tanked I think I'm back to the building phase again.
I'd really like to build up a legal limit amp for six, but I'm too much
a perfectionist so it'd probably cost more than purchasing one.

So, here I am after nearly 48 years and still nothing to stick on the
wall but a few QSLs and my life membership plaque for the ARRL and that
has a different call on it. <:-))
