[SixClub] snow on the antennas

Every year as far back as I can remember, we have substantial snow on 
the ground at our radio club Christmas dinner.  This year, although 
below freezing, we had less than an inch of the stuff.  However with the 
*stuff* coming in from the West, we may pay for it in the next couple of 
days.

It seems like each year, it snows later and we have less, but in 
Michigan that's a difficult call.  Here, we didn't have a lot of snow, 
while Midland, just 4 1/2 miles away had a total record snow fall for 
the winter.  When seen from the air, the results of "lake effect" snow 
is quite pronounced. It looks like some one took a giant paint brush and 
just  swiped it across the land  with white paint at random intervals. 
You see white, and then bare dirt. Where you see the white it might just 
be enough to cover the dirt, or it could be 5' drifts. It doesn't just 
gradually taper off. You can have drifts that are work for the snow 
plows and in less than a mile find dry, clean roads.

Yup, must be getting time to do some antenna work.
