What kind of gear and antennas are guys running?

Is it low power, e.g. 5-10W, and inefficient short vertical antennas?

Does anyone ever check in from outside the area?

When the band is open one can hear milliwatts across the sea
but when it is down, like now, it's tough going.

I am curious to learn how much coverage 6M has, based on a
certain configuration of antenna and rig power, when propagation
is not favorable.
