We had much the same situation here when Hurricane Charlie came to visit on
Friday, August 13, 2004. None of my antennas escaped damage but flimsy
aluminum TV tower withstood the storm and a cheap (if there is such a thing)
MFJ quad-band vertical lost only the 6-meter resonator (which was the
easiest of all our extensive damage to fix). Tornadoes got us rather than
the hurricane winds. The entire power grid was stripped and many poles were
snapped off like toothpicks. We were among the lucky ones. Even though
damaged, our house, covered by huge blue tarps, remained habitable and we
got power back (three miles outside the city) three days later.
Best of luck getting your damage repaired. I can appreciate the
frustrations that lay ahead.
