In Houston, Tx. region which encompasses several counties that are 
larger than some states, only 4 repeaters are listed as being on 6M, 
those are for the better part in someone's back yard on towers that are 
not all that tall.

One of those with a 6m repeater license, uses it primarily to link to a 
network of linked 2m & 70cm repeaters, so on the remote times that 6m is 
open, traffic gets broadcast over the local network of linked repeaters 
www.saltgrasslinksystem.org  ..

I haven't checked the listings in the ARRL 2007-2008 Repeater Directory, 
but doubt there are more than the 4 6m repeaters listed on local 
repeater lists..

That is why I bought the Ranger 5054dx100 transceiver, rather than a 
larger HF radio with 6M added at a much higher cost.. (I just wish I had 
an antenna at home, but apartment building owner doesn't want anything 
mounted on the roof.).
