I have been on 6 FM from TAMPABAY since 1973 and from new york since 1966.
Right now I run a IC-706 into a V2000 @ 25 foot but even my MFJ 10 watt FM rig into that antenna covers TAMPABAY just fine. Just like 2 meter SSB the diffrence is ANTENNAS !!!!! How many ( except me ) run squailos on 2 and 6 SSB ? VERY FEW ......

SSB stations have a 10 - 13 db advange ( 20 -26 db if both stations are running beams ) over FM 99% of which are running at best a 3 db gain vertical.

Every once and a while a guy with stacked 6 elm hygains at 100 foot pops up on FM ....... NICE SIGNAL ..... just like SSB only QUITE ......
