So I found out in EL29, a strong signal was breaking squelch on my
scanner (Easy to ID SSB as it sounds quite different from FM
transmissions), I typed a cursory note to the list & hit the door
running, by the time I pulled out of the parking lot, I was getting
nothing but white noise..!

I did drive to the banks of a nearby bayou to have water behind me
(It seems to help get my mobile signal out with water behind me &
away from power lines.).

Did stay on for nearly 2 hours, interrupted only briefly for a 2m
scheduled Monday public service net.

Not a peep from 50.125 to 50.225..
