OK I don't want to boar the forum but to answer you ..
Gordon ....
I don't believe you will find the people pushing this
have any interest in anything but what they want.
I have tried over the last year to get them to show
ANY ideas only to be called down and referred to as
another LEGACY mode user.
If you bring up interference you get .... we will obey
the law. If you bring up other modes you get no
answers at all.
One did admit the reason 6 was picked was they want to
be able to send digital video and they thought they
had the best chance to get THIS BAND also the ARRL has
no interest in 6 all they care about is BPL ... HUMMM
then WHY would you want to PUT it on 6 ?
Since I work in public safety ( radio ) Ive been
looking to see which cordless phone maker is trying to
seize 6 meters NO ONE I've talked to in the industry
knows of any interest in LOW BAND VHF WHAT would you
put there ???? and with 54 - 213 MHz going up for
sale there is going to be a lot of radio frequencies
open for part 90 use ....
NOW as for 144.200 I have been on 2 SSB since the late
1960's in fact I ran a DRAKE R4b/T4xb with 2 and 6
meter transverters in the Early 1970's with 4 stacked
beams just before I moved to TAMPA BAY in 1972.
Making changes .....
OK lets start with the ARRL contacting the USERS not
some closed door group that blows off any thing that
they don't want to hear .... This is one letter I
FINALLY got when requesting they allow input from
USERS ....

We have an FCC license, albeit Experimental, just like
you do, so our HSMM testing will continue: all 200 kHz
of it and at 1.5 KW, if that much power is required
for our links.
Last I heard neither you nor SMIRK own the 6M band, at
least not all of it (HI). Out of 4 MHz there should be
some room for radio experimenters too, wouldn't you
agree? However, we are restricted to 50.3
50. 8 MHz, while you can go anywhere in the band you
wish.

Now note he said ......
" Out of 4 MHz there should be some room for radio
experimenters "
Also the smart remark about 1 KW for links ... and he
was a chair person for this group at one point ....
This is the UNCARING crap you get back along with the
PASS THE BUCK of the ARRL ..... and you wonder why
there is no answer but NO to RM-11306 !
ARRL ....
Thanks for writing, Bruce.
ARRL provided two opportunities for radio amateurs to
express their opinions on the issue of regulation by
bandwidth. In addition, the entire Amateur Radio
community had an opportunity to express its opinions
on this issue in 2006, when the FCC designated the
ARRL's petition as RM-11306 and put it on public
notice (ie, invited comments from the public).
If you have a specific objection, please advise your
ARRL Division Director.
73, Rick, N1RL
THIS WAS AFTER A NUMBER OF LETTERS TO MY DIRECTOR WENT
UNANSWERED...... HELLO ANYONE HOME AT THE ARRL ????
The way RM-11306 is wrote it is a DISASTER for 6 and 2
meters all you have to do is listen to 75 meters and
you quickly get the idea what will happen if these
guys are cut loose over both bands.
REMEMBER they would be allowed above 50.300 THEY HAVE
THE RIGHT TO BE THERE .....
1) how do you report them and how do you measure any
signal /problems with that signal since 99% of us
don't even OWN wide band digital radios.
2) ASSUMING the FCC will act what can they really do
??
3) A large number of 1kw digital stations running 175
kHz away from the calling frequency will raise the
noise floor ans with a LARGE number of stations where
would they go with a 50.300 end of band ?????
4) what do you do with everyone above 50.3 ?????
OK MY IDEAS ...... If any digital would be allowed
NO 100 kHz WIDE BAND BELOW 53.500 ALLOW it from 53.500
- 54.00 on a NON interfering bases with any repeaters.
NOW 25 khz wide could /might work on 50.500 - 51.000
let's go with this as a place that there is already
digital and far enough away from most users to pose a
lower /limited problem.
AGAIN BOTH would be on a non interfering bases
AND AGAIN RM-11306 does not say this and if passed
would still allow 50.300 - 54.00 it has to be voted
down as written ......
AND FINALY THIS IS MY OPINION not that of this forum
....
Bruce
